Planning and Markets: Volume VI Introduction

This is Volume 6 of the journal. Once again, we invite more submissions. One advantage of an electronic journal is that there is no significant space constraint. We are especially interested in promoting high-level debate on both sides of planning issues. One of our disappointments hitherto is that we have not attracted enough submissions from a progressive perspective. We promise that we will send such submissions to appropriate referees.

An innovation to be introduced in the next issue is that we will send out accepted papers on controversial themes to scholars with an opposing point of view for a "Point-Counterpoint" discussion. We also welcome more submissions from junior scholars. We want to remind everyone that this is a double-blind peer-reviewed journal. Every paper goes out to at least two high-quality external referees and is read by the Editors; this is a hands-on management team. A final point: Since we began this journal, the number of on-line journals has mushroomed, as we predicted. You can reach far more readers than with a hard-copy journal. Fast and easy research dissemination is the key to our productivity and influence. Thousands of researchers around the world access our journal on a regular basis.
